Finding the You in the Yule
Four days out from Christmas and the hustle and bustle of “the season” is upon us in full force. Whether you’re out among the masses scavenging for last minute items or enjoying a slower pace because you, wisely, planned ahead for all your holiday needs, there is no escaping the surge of tinsel fueled energy. Cookies, cocktail napkins, carols, strings of light, and season’s greetings carrying messages of hope, good cheer, and peace, abound this time of year. Maybe you’ve initiated and/or participated in an act of kindness, maybe you’ve been on the receiving end of someone’s generosity, or maybe you’re finding it difficult to get into the spirit of the season and you’d like to put a wet blanket over the bright lights of the holidays and move into 2015 without all the fuss. Whomever you are, wherever you are, and whatever your beliefs may be, my hope is that you find the spirit of love inside of you and let it guide you toward something new: giving if you’ve always received, receiving if you’ve always given, believing in what’s possible if you’ve only ever seen what’s impossible, and letting the magic of the season inspire the gift of wonderment that delights in dreams coming true…and the simple joy of spilled milk and half eaten cookies.
