Laugh with Me

My guess is that fun and funny would not be the first two adjectives you would use to describe your perception of therapy or therapists. That’s ok - they wouldn’t be my first picks either. But, as a therapist, I think we get a bad rap for being too much of a lot of other adjectives (I.e cerebral, intense, inquisitive) that overshadow other very real and present aspects of who many of us are: warm, patient, and yes…even fun and funny. There’s no doubt that doing “the work” of therapy can be challenging and uncomfortable, but it’s also true that laughter can find its way into the darkest of spaces and elicit hope. In the spirit of levity (and Halloween), here’s a lighthearted treat from yours truly that won’t give you cavities, but just might make you smile:
